This rooftop garden situated in South Delhi is a second home to an empty nester executive couple. The site affords views of a nearby iconic stadium and a neighbourhood park. The client required a garden to relax as well as entertain in. The program was to create a variety of spaces with something for all seasons-intimate as well as expansive spaces.
The garden is designed as a ‘dumb bell’ scheme, with a central patio and two side lawns. The patio is covered with a trellis that provides shade in the summer, leaving the lawns unobstructed for winter sun. A slender water wall acts as both an entry statement as well as a garden focal point. A small deck with a glass rail is floated above the lower balconies in the NE corner to overlook the nearby park and borrow from its greenery.
