The landscape for the Rohnert Park Cotati Library is an allegorical design that emphasizes the role of libraries in fostering literature, language, and learning in our human history. Drawing upon the universality of language and sound that underlies the commonality of the human race, the design uses various elements and events to create a garden for play, reading and reflection. Apart from its playful and allegorical aspects, the landscape for the Rohnert Park Cotati Library solves practical space issues such as unifying the Public Safety Building, the Library and the future City Hall into one civic complex, and creating a civic presence on Rohnert Park Expressway
